ABOUT VIETNAMESE CULINARY
Culinary culture is the natural culture formed in life. Especially for
the Vietnamese, the culinary is not only material cultural but also spiritual
culture.
The culinary helps everybody can understand the culture expressing human
dignity, the level of culture of the nation with
the principles, rules, customs in the way of eating.
Vietnamese culinary culture is known for its unique features:
Using the rich raw materials inland; delicious tastes with a combination of
various types of spices to increase the taste of the food. The use of trays and chopsticks and the specialty of the
meal - “rice”, all are the common customs of the Vietnamese.
Besides the common points, each region has its own culinary
characteristics.
Northern Region Cuisine: The dish has just flavor, not too strong but
colorful, usually not thick, spicy, fat, sweet.
Central region people prefer tasty foods, strong flavors, more spicy
foods than the North and the South. Colors are red and dark brown. Central
cuisine is famous for all kinds of seafood and fermented salted fishes (MAM in
Vietnamese language),
Southern culinary focuses on the beauty of the regional cuisine, and
also has its own unique dishes made from seafood: fish, shrimp, squid..Or other
animal meats such as chicken, snakes, birds…
Especially when talk about the southern culinary, nobody can forget the
unique wine (ruou de) of the Mekong Delta. “RUOU DE “is The Vietnamese Brand
like Whisky, Vodka of Europeans or Russians.
Culinary expresses the
cultural spirit of the Vietnamese.That is the expression of beauty in
communication culture is the behavior between people with people in the meal,
to satisfy other through the attitude of gentle and education behavior,. Eating
and drinking have their own rules and regulations, from themselves, to the family,
and social relationships.
In the family: eat the
same tray, preferably food for older people, for young children , showing
respect, love affection. Everyday meal is considered a family meal, people
gather together, together after a hard day's work.
Out of society:
Inviting visitors to the home expresses the culture between people and people
